We will bring bright colours and latest effects to Brno, says Austrian fireworks designer
Brno – The Austrian Pyrovision team has prepared a show called Friendship with an unusual soundtrack for Wednesday 19 June. The team, which won last year's International Fireworks Festival in Hannover, will take part in Ignis Brunensis for the fifth time. They have prepared fireworks for the audience in Brno in 2009, 2012, 2017 and 2021, and have twice won the award for the best music. In 2012 and 2021, they collaborated with Czech fireworkers from Flash Barrandov SFX to prepare their shows, and it is their friendship with them that they want to celebrate in their pyromusical. In an interview, the designer teams revealed more about the choice of soundtrack and the theme of the fireworks.
In your show, you work with various remixes, alternate versions and overall non-traditional songs. Which one was the most interesting for you to work with?
For me, it’s the first song - Wolf Totem from the Mongolian group THE HU, which was an interesting new influence. For this kind of unusual music, I tried to use unconventional effects as well.
You chose a metal version of the obligatory song. Do you often work with metal music in your show, or is it something new for you?
Sometimes we used hard rock or metal music to interpret our fireworks. For our Ignis Brunensis show, the metal version of Chariots of Fire from the band MEGARAPTOR was the most powerful to me.
You chose friendship as a theme to your show. What does friendship mean for you?
Next to family, friendship is one of the most important feelings of togetherness. Friendship should be nurtured. With more friendship, there would be less disputes and no wars.
You dedicated the show to celebrating your friendship with Flash Barrandov SFX. You cooperated with them several times (2012-2021). What moments and which show from the cooperation are your favourite?
For more than 10 years we have had a good cooperation and friendship with many beautiful projects together like IGNIS, "Sommernachtstraum" in Munich or the "Linzer Klangwolke" in Austria. As my name is Christian Czech, it is a Czech – Czech friendship.
Can you hint at the colours which the audience will see during your show?
We always try to bring bright colours and some of the latest effects. Come to see our display. We really put a lot of working-hours into this show. It is a matter of the heart for us.
The Austrian fireworks display is the last competitive fireworks display of the 27th year of Ignis Brunensis. It will light up the sky above the Brno Lake on 19 June at 22:30.
