IGNIS BRUNENSIS 2026
REGIOJET IGNIS BRUNENSIS kicks off in Brno on 30 May this year. The main artistic fireworks competition will take place a month later at the Brno Lake from 27 June to 4 July, featuring drone shows as well. The number of drones will nearly double to 500!
The 29th edition of the REGIOJET IGNIS BRUNENSIS festival awaits us in Brno and South Moravia from 30 May to 4 July, 2026. The international artistic fireworks competition and drone light show will be accompanied by entertainment programmes for both children and adults. This year, the festival will also celebrate a significant anniversary. The Czech Republic’s fireworks show at the Brno Lake on 27 June will be the 150th fireworks display in the history of IGNIS BRUNENSIS. And we will also commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Brno City Transport Company’s boat service on the lake.
This year’s fireworks opening ceremony will take place on 30 May in Brno - Komárov. The opening fireworks display will bring the traditional Brno-South Children’s Day at the Hněvkovského compound to a close.
The biggest draw of IGNIS BRUNENSIS is the annual competition featuring the world’s best artistic pyrotechnicians on the surface of the Brno Lake. Spectators will see three spectacular pyro-musicals synchronized with music (broadcast live by Rádio Krokodýl on 103 FM). The Czech Republic will perform on 27 June, Switzerland on 1 July, and Finland on 4 July. This marks the first time the Nordic country participates in the festival.
Ahead of Saturday’s fireworks at the lake, we can look forward to drone light shows for the fifth time. Following last year’s shows featuring 300 drones, the IGNIS DRONE SHOW will feature nearly twice as many of these luminous machines. This year, 500 luminous drones will be presented at the Brno Lake in the performances on June 27 Four Seasons and July 4 Birth of Life. The drone project is thus expanding to a European scale with 500 drones.
The main part of the IGNIS events at the Brno Lake will take place on a new date at the start of summer holidays this year. And as a surprise not just for young audiences, the shows at the lake will now feature a laser light beacon, creating an additional multimedia experience.
Public viewing areas for the fireworks and drone shows are available on the beaches, banks, and around the reservoir, free of charge for spectators. Traditionally, a comfortable paid viewing area is also available—the RegioJet grandstand with a sound system (advance tickets available at GoOut.net).
Artistic fireworks and drone shows are always accompanied by a rich festival of entertainment. Spectator-friendly weekend events in the centre of Brno always include Fun by the City Walls and Transport Nostalgia with rides on historic public transport vehicles organized by public transport companies (13–14 June), Police Day and the 27th International Police Equestrian Championship of the Czech Republic (12–13 June), children’s days, and other leisure, cultural, sports, and other events from May to September.
The main co-organisers include the City of Brno, the South Moravian Region and SNIP & CO as the main producer. The title partner is RegioJet from the STUDENT AGENCY group. The main supervisor of the fireworks festival is Flash Barrandov SFX. Spectrum Production are the technological and artistic parner of the IGNIS DRONE SHOW. The official public transport of visitors is provided by the Brno public transport company DPMB.
