Fireworker Jaroslav Štolba: Fireworks are an art on high technical level

2/6/2017
Brno - Jack Sparrow's comeback is something the fireworkers promised already when introducing the first show of the pyromusical. And the 20th year of the Ignis Brunensis festival is the right opportunity for a popular pirate to come back and save the world. The long awaited show will be on the 3rd of June, beginning at 22:30, when the viewers will have the opportunity to watch the show directed by Ignis Brunensis Team of fireworkers above the dam.

What do you like the most about your job? Is your job more about art or technique?
I like it when I have the space to do anything I want. Freedom in choice of theme, music and crew is really important to us - and thanks to the faith our clients have in us we are able to achieve this. Fireworks are an art on a high technical level.

Why did you decide to become a fireworker?
In our evolution, there hasn't yet been anything more natural.

Is there anything that inspires you the most while creating a firework? What is it?
The inspiration is in many places and situations, if one is susceptible. I personally find inspiration in many aspects and also in picturesque situations.

Is there any manual or instruction for the viewers how to "read" a firework, how to watch it?
In southern Europe this question is pointless. The audience basically lives for the ‘cleansing by fireworks', they come exquisitely for of it. But some audiences can't be helped, not even a free show does it for them.

How was created the firework for the audience of the parade in Brno?
Remaking this pirate show was a popular demand among our audience. Already the first love conflict between Jack Sparrow and Tia Dalma sparkled interest in them, they have been wanting a remake ever since. We listened to the wishes of our audience. Also - Jack promised he would come back and save the world. The preparation itself was really specific; it's hard to describe it.

Are there any differences between other parades and the one in Brno?
The parade in Brno is definitely unique. I see the biggest differences in the location, the mood and also the interest of not only the audience, but also the organizers. The parade simply belongs in Brno.

To which part of your firework can the viewers look forward to the most?
To the „Hungry Barbossa".

How do you choose festivals that you participate in?
We are proud that we do not choose festivals to participate in - the festivals choose us.

Where you are going to perform after the Ignis Brunensis parade ends?
We are planning a chain of adrenaline events. Viewers can see our work on LET IT ROLL, on Mácháč 2017 festival, on Marpo trouble Gang and then we are heading to Maldives.
