Beauty and emotions are born from precision and you can watch it without a manual, says fireworker from Switzerland

13/6/2017
Brno - An unusual collaboration of Europe and Asia and their "Happy outlook on life" is going to shine above the dam on Wednesday 14th. Classical music along with beautiful jazz and energetic rock will accompany the 4th competition firework and hopefully enchant the audience.

What do you like the most about your job?
I love the opportunity to awake feelings in the audience. Fireworks can bring many emotions.

Is your job more about art or technique?
My part of the job is mainly artistic. But I need a large and experienced technical team to make my artistic visions come true.

Why did you decide to become a fireworker?
I worked as a jewellery designer for 15 years, but the ephemeral magic of fireworks seduced me. I have been working in the firework industry for more than 10 years now.

Is there anything that inspires you the most while creating a firework? What is it?
I am most inspired when I imagine the audience and the emotions they go through. I love playing with the emotions of the viewer.

What is the most important thing or moment of preparation of fireworks? Why?
The most important thing is definitely precision. Both breath-taking beauty and emotions are born from precision.

Is there any manual or instruction for the viewers how to "read" a firework, how to watch it?
I have a piece of advice for the viewers: Just watch and feel with your heart. You don't need a manual or instruction to do it. This way you can really feel the magic of the firework.

How was created the firework for the audience of the parade in Brno?
Creating the firework for Starobrno Ignis Brunensis was a pleasure, I definitely had a nice time designing it. I let the venue and the parade tradition inspire me.

Are there any differences between other parades and the one in Brno?
Yes, there is one big difference: The whole crew of pyrotechnics in Brno are my close friends. Thanks to them I feel like I am at home in this city.

To which part of your firework can the viewers look forward to the most?
We prepared some funny parts in our show. We look forward to firing them and we hope the audience will like them.

How do you choose festivals that you participate in?
It depends on lot of factors. Both location and date are of course important, but we also care about the organisation crew and particularity of the place.

Do you remember any quaint or unusual assignment for a show that you had created?
Oh yes! One time we had a pyrotechnist in a fake plane. He was hidden in a wood on the water. We needed to light up fireworks there during the show.

Where you are going to perform after the Ignis Brunensis festival ends?
We are going to return home. We have to organize more than 100 fireworks for our national day which is on the 1st of August, so there is a lot of work awaiting us.
