Austrian fireworks wrote on the sky
Brno – On Wednesday 19 June, the last fireworks display of the twenty-seventh Ignis Brunensis took place over the Brno Lake. The show, called Friendship, was prepared by an Austrian team led by designer Christian Czech.
The designers used the pyromusical to celebrate the cooperation of Austrian and Czech fireworkers, their joint participation in fireworks shows and their mutual friendship with the Flash Barrandov SFX team.
"The first song, Wolf Totem by the Mongolian band The Hu, influenced our show a lot. When we use such unconventional music, we also try to use special and unusual effects," commented designer Christian Czech on the preparations.
The spectators at the Brno Lake saw an interesting show – the fireworks effects were synchronized not only with the music itself, but also with its tempo and mood, and for some songs the fireworkers gradually set off fireworks effects at different heights, filling the whole sky. For the ballad Mad World in the remix version, the designers used slow-falling effects, and for the third track, One Day, a fireworks display of ONE DAY appeared in the sky. Veronika Králová was impressed: "I never thought you could make a sign with fireworks, they got me with that."
The Austrians ended their show symbolically with the song Time to Say Good Night, which ended not only their fireworks display but also this year's international fireworks competition. Throughout the show it was possible to see very unusual effects, which the designer Czech promised the audience in an interview before the show. "For me, they are clear winners, such a great spectacle," Květa Lázničková praised the spectacle.
The Austrian Pyrovision team returned to Brno for the fifth time, twice winning the award for the best music in the Ignis Brunensis international fireworks competition. The winners of the twenty-seventh edition will be announced on Thursday 20 June. The expert jury will award three prizes in total: for music, best design of the obligatory part and the main prize.
On Friday, the people’s choice award for the most popular firework among the audience display will be announced. Viewers can vote for the Austrian fireworks display on the official Ignis Brunensis Facebook profile; voting is open until 3pm on Friday.
Ignis Brunensis Photo Contest will keep running until 18 September – amateur and professional photographers can submit their photos from the fireworks, drone shows and accompanying events. Winners will receive prizes from the partners of the festival, and an exhibition will also be organised from the selected photos. More information about the competition and submitting photos can be found on the official festival website.
